Position: Adult Ministry Administrative Assistant
Hours: Average 28-30 hours per week (Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM*)
*Occasional Wednesday evenings or Sundays as needed
Position Overview
Florence Baptist Church is seeking a highly organized and personable Administrative Assistant to support the growth and operation of our Adult Ministry. This role is vital to the success of various ministry areas, including Small Groups, College & Young Adult Ministry, Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, 55^ Ministry, Connection Point, First Impressions, Resource Center, and Next Steps at all campuses.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and computer skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a deep passion for helping others connect and grow in their faith. A servant's heart, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and a collaborative spirit are essential to ensure the effective operation of all ministry areas.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support:
○ Handle phone calls and emails and provide general administrative support, including database management and report preparation.
○ Assist with scheduling, communication, and correspondence for Adult Ministry staff.
○ Manage the ministry calendar and maintain group, volunteer, and event records.
○ All other duties as assigned.
2. Ministry Coordination & Event Support:
○ Organize events and coordinate communication between ministry areas.
○ Support new initiatives and programs to promote spiritual growth and church involvement.
○ Support all church-wide events.
○ Order and distribute curriculum.
○ Coordinate the First Impressions Teams to foster a welcoming environment.
○ Manage the Resource Center inventory, ensuring materials are stocked.
○ Support the Next Steps process and oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
○ Proven experience in administrative or office support roles, preferably in a ministry or church environment.
○ Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
○ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
○ Proficiency in Google Suite Products (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.).
○ A heart for ministry with the ability to engage and support volunteers and church members in a positive and professional manner.
○ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
○ High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
○ Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and ministry programs.
Physical Requirements
Flexibility to sit and/or stand for extended periods and lift 15 pounds. (e.g., event supplies, printed materials, materials for church functions).
